First and Foremost.

Abstract design plays a huge part in my first year design course and one project that explored this was project 1 for DESN 111. The brief asked us to explore a design aspects in 3d shape, using different materials. We first were instructed to unearth the many wonders of card and try to explain balance, hierarchy, or rhythm. Then in wire using a secondary material.

After many many broken, crippled, and generally destroyed models, a final adaptation was constructed. The card model did so using sharp folds and crisp lines, and the wire model used contrast between thick and thin, and strong, and weak, to show balance in an abstract and well polished manner. This project formed the basis of what I now love doing, which is exploring ideas, and techniques for design in abstract but convincing modes

Breakfast, Lunch, & Coffee??

Being a student means being frugal as hell, thus combining my three most important things into one network, breakfast lunch and coffee. Which allows my favorite event to occur, hanging at epic with my best mate.

The pic shows in an abstract way the networks interacting, starting meal, finished meal, starting coffee, finished coffee, and if you look real close it connects other moments captured at the time in too. A capture of time in one moment.

If the Shoe Fits

The Final Result of combined work from Matt Woods and myself......inspired by this man http://www.eatpes.com/roofsex.html PES. Pretty happy with the result. A stopmotion movie to the music of "Beck". Enjoy.

How 'Bout Them Apples. .

After my post about Internet blogs and becoming a "lurker" i learnt how to interact with people correctly using blogs. Its often hard to know what to say to people about their work, as their work is a personal expression of themselves.

However after receiving comments on my own work i realised how easy it is to give some one positive feedback on what you found interesting in their work regardless if you get a comment back from them. Overall this project became a new way to interact with the class and share ideas in an interesting way.

I found that i had common tastes in design with these people, Matt Woods, Nay Lin, and many many more, i made contact through comments, and even ended up working with Matt Woods in a project.
